Just thought you'd be interested in seeing what happened to me about 25 miles south of the campground of the last rally.

Wish we could fish together again !

Anything not covered elsewhere / Last

With future operations in some doubt, one never knows who will make the last post.

This may be it, and if so I WIN !!!

Ask the factory / Accessibility modifications
October 31, 2016, 10:53:19 PM
The warranty is only one year. Who cares ? You're only exposed for a year, even assuming they could pretend the warranty was voided. Which unless the claim relates to something affected by the install, I doubt they would even bother. It's not like it's a hard drive with no user repairable parts, anyway.

This is probably worth contacting the factory for consultation before purchase - this kind of thing they USED TO do under custom ordering.

Ask the factory / Something's chirping

I think it's the propane detector near the floor. That has its own battery, right ?

I am looking forward to this weekend so much. You all can't possibly live up to my expectations, but please try your best not to disappoint !

The good news is, these are razor clams. The largest  are 6-7" long. And they are yummy. These were caught in the space of an hour this here very morning, and the feet have already been fried and eaten, and the necks frozen for a future chowdah (or chowdaire, as it is or were).

Did I mention they are yummy ? And they were taken at [a href="https://www.google.com/maps/@46.1392417,-123.9584568,1303m/data=!3m1!1e3"]Sunset Beach[/a], just south of, and in contiguous proximity to [a href="https://www.google.com/maps/@46.1766761,-123.9599809,942m/data=!3m1!1e3"]Fort Stevens[/a], where the first (and realistically, probably the last) National/Regional LL Owners/Aluminati Jamboree, Singalong and Drunkfest is being held later this month.

The bad news is, the season ends July 15.

So, in summation: Nyah Nyah Nyah !!

Oh, and on the way there this morning were seen deer and coyotes. No bears seen but, they're there. Oh yes, there are bears. And if you go swimming* there, you may well meet The Landlord** (aka GWS).

But there are no gators or crocodiles.

* You are much more likely to perish by hypothermia if you swim there.

**Although there were reports of orca sightings [a href="https://www.google.com/maps/@45.5353831,-123.9144356,14324m/data=!3m1!1e3"]INSIDE the Tillamook Bay [/a] just 3 weeks back, about an hour south.

QuickSilver Pop Ups / Missing lug nut
July 04, 2016, 12:42:29 AM
Quote from: Eleanor " timestamp="1467603407" source="/post/22739/thread[div][/div]I am currently out west (Mesa Verdi) and noticed one of my lug nuts is missing on my 8.0. I live in NJ. Does anyone know the specs for a replacement or where I could purchase same? I'm considering going on with 4 nuts and checking every so often.
Stop at the first tire store you see. They will figure it out in seconds, and they have bins full of all the different sizes. If you are reasonably fortunate, they will put the lug nut on, torque everything to spec, and send you on your way without a bill. $20 max unless they are barbarians.

Also, as a NJ expatriate, I gotta ask: "What exit ?"

Gear / Favorite black tank tablets ?

Title pretty much says it all. We spent our last one yesterday, wondering if anybody has a preference, or are they all fungible ?

Use the dealer locator and make contact with a few dealers within range of you, is the only way to get a price.

Anything not covered elsewhere / Broken Links
November 20, 2015, 12:39:35 PM
Here's a shot of some busted links. Seems to be all the subforum links of the dropdown navigation.

Had to create a post as PM's don't support image attachments. Or any attachments, for that matter.

General Q & A / Integrated brake controller?
November 17, 2015, 05:50:27 AM
I am considering upgrading my weekend play truck from a Ranger to a full size pickup. Some come with electric brake controllers built in.

How do these compare to, say, a Prodigy proportional controller?

Camplite Travel Trailers / No running lights on 14DBS
October 16, 2015, 07:37:51 PM
Noticed on the last trip out that with our headlights on, neither the running lights nor that tail lights on the trailer go on. Obviously an issue for dusk or dark travel !

I checked the TV, it is putting out voltage to the correct pins. Honestly, I don't know how long this has been broken as we generally are where we need to be by dark.

Can this be a single burned out bulb somewhere taking the whole set out like a Hanukkah Bush ? If so, just start checking one after another to find the bad one ?

I do have turn and flashers and brake lights on the trailer. So I suspect it is one of the amber running lights that is out, if it's a bulb.

Camplite Mods / Upgrades / Which locks ?
October 04, 2015, 03:45:56 PM
[p]So, I have a busted storage compartment lock, so I'll be changing them out.[/p][p]
[/p][p]I'm gonna go with the combination style locks. What I don't know is - when length to get ?[/p][p]
[/p][p]On the Amazon, I see 5/8, 7/8, and 1 1/8. Which do we need - I presume the door thickness is the same from model to model.[/p]

QuickSilver Pop Ups / Water Supply Hook-up
June 16, 2015, 10:43:25 PM
This message is awaiting approval by a moderator.
If you connect to city water, a pressure regulator is a must. Unless you like leaks inside your camper from broken connections, in which case, never mind, just go for it.

The water supply is standard garden hose thread. You don't use a garden hose. You use a garden hose that's rated for fresh/potable water, usually but not always white in color. Note that connecting to city water does NOT fill your fresh water tank - that's the tank that you need the pump on for. You don't turn on the pump when connected to city water. The fresh tank gets filled via that hole right next to the city water hose connection. You just pour water in the hole, although there are special doo-dads that go on the end of your hose and stick down the hole so you don't spill any while standing there running the water in.

Trip Planning / Detroit Lake SP, OR
May 06, 2015, 11:47:04 PM
[p]Not a lake so much as a reservoir. Water level at 50%, which I'm kinda OK with, as it keeps the SOB's with their water skis at home. Intend to do a little bank fishing for trout on the lake. Might even put a baited hook on the line instead of just tying a lead sinker and casting and telling My Bitter Half "shhhhhh honey, you'll scare the fish !" Will depend on what the conditions are, and what the local market is getting for nightcrawlers.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Or, I might take the tv for a drive below the dam and bank fish for spring chinook or steelhead, but I think it's a tad early for that.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Beyond that, the three B's: Beer, Book, Bourbon, Bacon, Pillow. [/p][p]
[/p][p]And being at a remote campground means I [strike]have an excuse to not[/strike] [em]won't be able to [/em]call my[strike] (crazy)[/strike] mom on Sunday. [strike]Boo hoo.[/strike][/p][p][strike]

Camplite Mods / Upgrades / Major plumbing mod
May 04, 2015, 12:16:48 AM
[p]Took most of the weekend, which is why the lawn didn't get mowed, or any other the other stuff I was supposed to do, but [a href="https://www.brita.com/faucet-systems/advanced/"]when you mess with plumbing [/a]it is important to get it right. Don't rush anything. Take your time. Measure twice, cut once.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Now for a well earned beer or four.[/p][p]
