That's a great price. Keep an eye on how thick the base of the track is.  Strength is definitely affected by how much material is there.

If you can find a source for this stuff at a reasonable price get as much as you can.  I have a ton of it in my garage and it is the best stuff you can get.  Nothing beats aircraft rated stuff.

You can't go wrong with a 150..
I have a 16 DBS, I was towing it with a 2013 hyundai sante fe.  It is rated for 5000 lbs with a 3.3 l engine.  I had no issues with power or braking. The problem was the rear springs were to soft.  I was wearing the tires out on the inside edge.  I was less than 500 lbs tongue weight, I had my generator in the bathroom, my Davey Crocket smoker in the shower and the bikes on the rear bumper to lighten the tongue. I also had trouble with the rear diff actuator, it failed twice. Not sure if it was related but if it was out of warranty it was 1000 bucks to replace. So for piece of mind i figured an aluminum trailer deserves and aluminum truck.  I went with the f150.  I bought the 2.7 eccoboost, so fuel economy is almost the same as my car was.  I am getting 12.5 L/100 kms (19 MPG for our american friends) in mixed city hwy driving. (17 L/100 kms towing, 14 mpg)  Very happy with my purchase.

General Q & A / inexpensive tow vehicle
[p]Your 16BHS should be able to be safely towed with a mid size SUV. We tow our 16TBS fine with a 2013 Pathfinder which has a 3.5 liter V6 and a 5,000 lb tow rating. Our trailer weighs less than 4,000 lbs.

So if you have the long wheelbase Hyundai with the 3.3 liter engine, then you should be ok.

But if you want something heavier in the used market, look for a frame on body mid size SUV like the pre 2013 Pathfinder or its equivalents. Light pickups which usually have the same chassis, will work well too.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Unless you have other needs for a V8, the 3.5-4.0 liter V6s on these vehicles will provide plenty of power. You can't tow up an 8% grade at 60 mph unless you want the engine to run at 5,000 rpm. Ours pulls fine up an 8% grade at 45 mph and 3,000 rpm.

David[/p]
Yup I have the hyundai with the 3.3 GDI engine.  It is the long wheel base and is rated to pull 5000 lbs.  I have had the differential clutch replaced twice and now an axle seal ( boy does that stink when it leaks on the exhaust pipe ), so i am not convinced of its reliability.  The transmission and engine seem to be fine, just issues with the rear end.  Well it is all under warranty so I guess we will see how it goes.  Maybe a 2016 toyota taco is in my future...

General Q & A / inexpensive tow vehicle
July 29, 2015, 12:39:33 AM
Looking for advice on a tow vehicle, for towing a 16dbs.  thinking something that my wife can drive, (she does not like large vehicles). preferably a v8. Actually thinking ford explorer v8.  Looking to spend 10,000 bucks canadian (so that's about 50 bucks us...  ;)  )  Ideas?  I know its a wide topic with a million preferences....   My Hyundai Sante fe is rated for 5000 lbs, and i am under weight on the trailer, but I have a feeling something is not happy....

Camplite Travel Trailers / Trailer Valet?
Not cool. Is the company helping you with the warranty?
yes.  PJ trailer out of Edmonton sent me a new one in less than 3 days....  to bad it bent on its first use....  I have a bit of a lip coming of the parking pad.As the rear wheels came over the lip i heard a bang, the screwjack and tube bent and it blew the upper bushing.  I guess i am exceeding the limits of what this is designed for...

Top speed on that tug is about 10 mph...  it would turn trips into epic adventures...  Mind you it is good for towing 40,000 lbs

What's that big grey thingamabob mounted to the trailer tongue?  I really need to know soon or I'll be obsessively guessing for days or until I see a squirrel.  8-)
The grey thingamabob, is where the trailer valet mounts to the frame of the trailer.

I am putting new flooring in the trailer tomorrow, and needed a nice place to work.  This is a cool place.  My trailer is surrounded by nice aluminum vehicles.
