[p]Been searching for a replacement chow table for the 16DB. When we first deployed it it was cumbersome and in the way. Rocked and rolled when sawing through overdone steaks (thanks Dear). When two people were eating on it you had to chase your food around and guard the glasses from eminent spills. It was kind of like locking into a roller coaster ride at Six Flags....once you committed there was no escaping your seat. [/p][p]
[/p][p]On second deployment the material the dang thing is made of just plain tore out. This just from the force of spreading the legs open...heh heh heh! So now we have a small person sized surf board and will try to get vids of us using it this summer for body surfing.[/p][p]
[/p][p]At Walmart they sell these Ozark Trails all Aluminum camp tables. They support 60lbs each. They require no levers to deploy. They have four legs and are stable. They are light at 3.75 lbs each (versus 11 lbs for the old table). They can do double duty as fireside, cooking and camp tasks (ie saw horses etc). Weather proof. They fold flat and are of a manageable size.[/p][p]
[/p][p]We like 'em. We like dual purpose items. We like stable tables that do not tear out from opening. We like aluminum...ooooh, shiny.[/p][p]

We gave up on the table in our Quicksilver. It cracked when being used to convert the dinette into a bed (it was pretty flimsy, frankly), and since we hardly ever did the conversion, and 90% of the time never used the table as a table either, I bought one of these at a Walmart and love it. Love it so much, in fact, that this season I think I will get another.
And for 23 dollars they are a steal in my humble opinion.
So I have devised a way to stow these that allows them to provide much appreciated bedside tables to the massive bed in the 16DB by lifting only one half of the table and pinning it open.. Turning the bed into the lounge for movies and such by laying perpendicular in it. These things are very versatile. I think LL should offer them as standard equipment for the DB. Probably even cheaper than what they offer today.
It's usually just me camping no sense dragging out the CL table. The Ozarks work great.
