Title: Custom Built 8.6 Truck Camper
Post by: dhrvcenter on January 21, 2015, 12:43:08 PM
So, we just had a custom unit built from Livin Lite.   We had the small bench removed and had a put a 2 seat dinette installed in it's place.  Here's a few pictures.

It seems to have much more space.  I don't think it actually does, just feels that way.

That is a good use of space. They did great work! What truck do you have?

Gordon and Angela from Truck Camper Magazine were here last weekend.  They are actually going to do an article on this specific unit with the two seat dinette.  So, Livin Lite will now have to make it an options open to everyone.  I kinda liked keeping it a secret.

Anyway, Keep an eye out at truckcampermagazine.com

Hi,

My wife & I are both engineers and we'd already discussed this option between ourselves whilst doodling ideas for our camper. We also though a drop down table leaf would make a good addition to a great option. It could be about half a table width, and when not in use fold down on the wall side. When needed, flip the table around & put it up. Ideal for those extra salad bowls on the table or things like that.

We also have thought about adding a hand wash sink to the bathroom by splitting the outside storage closet half way up and only having the lower kept. The sink would sit in the horizontal bulkhead formed by keeping the lower half of the closet with space above for a storage cabinet or shelving.

Cheers,
Andy

Hi....I am going to custom-order an 8.6 this fall for use next summer (too late for this summer) and like your idea very much. In addition I'm wondering what flooring it is I see in there? I"m very happy with my current aluminum plank flooring in my 16DB but yours looks nice. Did you lay it on top of the AL or did Camplite put it there?

It looks like the Camplite flooring that comes with the XL package.
