Title: Moisture
Post by: mtbkendall on October 07, 2014, 01:30:23 PM
[p]Hello folks![/p][p]
[/p][p]I have the VRV Quicksilver 8.5x24.  Now that it has been used in a couple different seasons I better learning this thing. [/p][p]
[/p][p]Question for other owners:[/p][p]
[/p][p]When packing up and pulling sheets off the bed I always look under the mattress (I have beds that drop down to the outside) |  |/  So far, no matter the season I find moisture between the mattress and the smooth surface of the bed platform.  Anyone else experiencing this and if so how have you corrected it.[/p][p]
[/p][p]In summer:  AC on all  roof vents closed.  In cooler weather: Heat on, one or two roof vents open.[/p][p]
[/p][p]I was thinking about getting some black rubber insulation to put under mattress.  Not only would this add to the insulation factor, but add a little more padding![/p][p]

It sounds like a condensation issue, but based on your details it sounds like you are doing a good job at mitigating the condensation. Also how much moisture are we talking about here?

It is enough that you can you see the beads of water on the white board and feel that the mattress is wet.  I typically wipe it down and then just flip the mattress over so the wet side can air out.  Most of it seems to be right down the middle, perpendicular with the trailer..a perfect strait line.

We have the same issue with our tip out. We just wipe it down then let it air dry with the mattress off when we get home. Probably start putting some towels under the mattress or something next season.
