Last night my wife and I spent about 2 hours installing foam mats with simulated wood grain on top. They are 2x2ft. 3/8in thick. They interlock like puzzle pieces. They do not require gluing to the floor. They came from amazon via wesellmats.com for $60 including shipping. I think they add some small amount of insulation and comfort over the bare aluminum. The only tools necessary are a tape measure, sharp utility knife, and a straight edge. I used a large carpenter's square as a straight edge. I put the rugs back in on top, but removed them for the pictures. Overall I'm glad I did it. for a 16db you need to order about 48 square ft. for the living area. I have previously done the front cargo area with Lowes foam squares and that took about 2 16sqft. packs.
The camera made the color match look a little funky in the first 2 pictures. The last one is more true to life color.

Now that is a nice job!! Even though I am getting a 28BHS with the new vinyl floor, I may still do what you did to add extra insulation if necessary.
Funky or not, the new floor looks good in those pictures. You did a nice job.
I wonder how that new vinyl floor which I think will be in my Camplite will fare if I am driving through rain. Other owners said that water splashed up between the aluminum planks. This looks like the way to go. Just pull up the wet squares, wash and dry, and put back.
My aluminum floor looks very tight...no visible light showing through any gaps. I could picture some moisture getting through via capilary action maybe? Either way these can be easily removed, cleaned and replaced. A sponge mop would work work on them also. For $60 they could be replaced seasonally if they get too funky. Now I have a template to work off if I ever replace them.

I installed the same flooring but in "Cherry" color. Looks good and fairly cheap to do. One caveat is the lament will separate under high humidity conditions. You'll see a bubble where it separates from the base foam. I contacted the factory and basically they said yes it will delaminate under extreme environmental conditions. They replaced one box of tiles to me and basically said.. now run along dont bothers use with this again..... I'm looking into the vinyl flooring that simulates hardwood floors. A friend installed it in his kitchen and it looks good but expensive compared to the foam stuff.
Saw these in HD tonight: interlocking foam squares with a travertine tile look....

I think they would be great for those of you looking to do the foam squares on the floor.
