Thanks Guys!  The trailer is around 3k as it sits, loaded it is under 5k I'm sure.  I never did take it to the scales.  When I towed it the first few thousand miles I didn't even use the Equalizer hitch but it did have the Timbrens.  The picture in my avatar is with that set-up.  You'll notice that it settled right down on the Timbrens, it towed fine though!

[font size="3"] Chris,

Welcome to the forum. I also went with the S/C Taco. I wanted the 2014 but the dealership types couldn't find a valid P/N for the S/C and wouldn't guarantee they could get it for the 2104. This was in Dec, 2013. So I had to settle for a 2013 and add a bunch of options on the aftermarket. When did you buy your 2014?

I really wanted a small V8, but the Taco didn't offer it. Didn't want a larger truck so, because we'd be towing in the Colorado mountains, I went with the S/C. So far it seems to be OK, but I didn't expect the whine.  I guess we'll get used to it. I use the E2 WDH, definitely a great improvement. My 21RBS loaded out has a tongue weight of 525#.

Man, I am so freakin' jealous you guys are making the Tacoma work to tow. I bought my VRV specifically to tow with my 2013 Taco. Long story short, I sold my brand new Taco in favor of an F150. The F150 does tow better, but man do I miss my Taco. So wish I could have lived with mine, but I just wasn't comfortable towing with it.

I'm impressed the Tacoma seems this capable.

I would love a V8 in the Tacoma!  I often wish I had just bought the Tundra.  Imagine that with the S/C...  The Double cab has plenty of room and fits easily where ever I might take it.  I got my 14 in October and had the S/C added a few months later, I think I ordered it in Feb.  It always takes awhile for TRD to get the programming done so they can release it.  By the time I was ready to buy, they were good to go.

The Tacoma tows fine, even without the S/C, it just makes it a whole bunch better!  The MPGs drop to about 10-12 but that's the only issue.  My truck comes with a lifetime powertrain warranty so, any issues are covered as long as I stay in the mostly stock category.  Win-Win as far as I'm concerned!  I really want the URD stealth pulley but won't risk a warranty issue, so it's a no go...

Oh, and the whine, it can be a little obnoxious, just add an exhaust to drone it out...LOL
