We have had our sofa bed replaced recently. We were there when they took the old out and put the new in. We now have a brand new sofa bed along with a mattress that was missing from the previous sofa bed. The two men that were putting in the new sofa could not figure out what supported the mattress when the bed was opened up. They thought it was a poorly designed item. We were frustrated and told them to forget it, that we would use a piece of plywood for the support. We have not used the bed yet as our daughter was not able to go on vacation with us.
Just curious...does anyone out there have the sofa bed in the shorter slide? This is not the jackknife sofa, but the sofa that pulls out and unfolds. Do you know what the support should be?
Thanks!
Can you post a picture of it? I'm having trouble visualizing the issue.
I can't get a picture right off hand. Our unit is not close at hand. I will post one when I can. The sofa bed folds out. There is no support in the middle of the bed for the mattress. If one would lay on the mattress, they would fall through the middle of the bed along with the mattress. There is no support!
Did you purchase your unit new or used? If new, I would hope that one phone call to LivinLite would get this resolved. Good luck.
I think the 28BHS has the same or similar sofa. I will certainly put that at the top of my PDI list. I messaged John, who has the 28BHS, to see if he has the same problem but not sure if he is still active here.
Can you post a picture as I am trying to get my dealer ready to fix it before I accept delivery? Any update on how you would expect for it to be properly corrected?
I have an email into LivinLite, but have not heard anything back as of yet. I did take pics of the sofa bed but cannot attach. I keep getting an error that the file is too large. I am going to try calling Livinlite tomorrow.

If you are running windows it generally includes Paint that will let you resize a picture. Right click on the picture you want and "open with" Paint. Resize to something like 640x480 pixels and re-save the image. Then you can attach and insert on the forum site.

I have been speaking with Don at LivinLite. Production is going to put together a fix and send to us directly. I have heard that there are a few sofa beds that have this problem due to the slide being smaller. All that being said, we are still very happy with our unit.
We have received the support for our sofa bed. Does not look too hard to install. Thanks goes out to Don at Livin Lite!!
Please let us know how it feels when you lie on the mattress!
It would appear that if one is having a problem, it often pays to contact the factory directly via phone. It is reassuring to hear that LivinLite does work with owners to try to resolve problems. As a potential purchaser of a CampLite, that is what I like to hear. I hope the part does resolve the problem.
Finally, here is a pic of the missing support. Hope to get the fix done today!![img src="http://s10398.storage.proboards.com/5560398/t/xEYg6YRVPFOyst2dZv4X.JPG"]
So frustrated!! We attached the supports that were sent to the bed frame. We used a piece of luan wood to lay down on the supports before putting the mattress down. Husband layed on it and said it was doable; probably for a child or very light weight person. We were happy...until we removed the piece of luan (it was going to be stored under one of the twin beds in the 16TBS) and went to fold the bed back up. The mattress now would not fold up properly. Because of the supports there was no where for it to fold into. Upon opening the bed back up, the mattress was now caught in the folding hinges. We could not get the mattress released from the hinge. It was stuck in there pretty good. The new mattress now has a huge hole in it, but we got it out. We have now removed the supports, folded the mattress with the hole in it back into the sofa bed, threw up our hands and said the h*** with it. Wasted almost three hours on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We would love to just figure out a way to take this heavy piece of metal junk out of the unit and replace it with maybe two recliners. Going to look into this idea, but have to watch the platform that the sofa bed sits on. Anybody have any ideas? Sorry no pics of the supports. We took them out before we thought to get pictures. The supports did look nice once done, but are now gone.
