Title: Help negotiating a 21BHS purchase
Post by: tbrady on December 12, 2016, 09:23:58 PM
Hi All-

I'm hoping to finalize a trailer order this week and reached out to several dealers across the country for their "best price".  So far, the numbers we are getting are MSRP of around 38k and discounted to 29k.  This is for the 21BHS with aluminum package and power awning.

Has the MSRP really gone up that much?  We were really hoping to get one for closer to 26k.  Granted, 26k for one located in the midwest near the factory.  I don't expect anything like that in the Northwest.

Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated.  I'm terrible at stuff like this... every time I walk on a car lot I feel like a big lollipop.

thanks
tim

In 2013, I paid $28K for a 21BHS, and I believe the retail was around $38K then as well.  I bought from a local dealer here in Florida, and used some prices I found on the Internet to bargain; basically saying that I would just go to one of the other dealers in Georgia if they didn't match the price.  They matched it, so I bought it local.

You may be able to get the price down a bit more, but $29K isn't too bad.

Yes, $29k is about the best you're going to be able to do.

There is only 2 dealers in the PNW I know of.  One is American RV in Portland which we are visiting Saturday.  There was another dealer in Spokane but as of 2017 they are no longer carrying Livin Lite.  I've spoken to a few dealers the last few days who are no longer carrying Livin Lite as of 2017, not sure if it is related to the KZ purchase or not...

Anyway... we will most likely end up buying our trailer in the midwest.  So far the quotes I am getting from the midwest are thousands less than the PNW.
