Title: Door rubs awning
Post by: jimt on October 09, 2016, 04:15:44 PM
I do have one last issue with the camper I can't seem to find a fix for. When the awning is fully extend the camper door scrapes the awning. Doesn't hurt anything , but over time I'm sure it will ware on the awning . Does anybody have a solution for this? The only thing I found is not to extend the awning all the way. If I stop about 6 inch from the end the door does not hit the awning.

Any tips or help would be appreciated .
Thanks

Are you sure the awning support legs are fully extended?

Ours rubs UNLESS extended all the way. Design flaw. They should have had more room between the top of the door and the roof line.

I wonder if having a power awning installed would allow one to address this, though you wouldn't take it the full length of the current awning: the bedroom window is in the way.

Ours is the electric awning and I see no way to adjust the height . I have found these roller things that attach to the door to keep the wear down.

Never thought about the awning doing this , but there seems to be a lot of this out there from all the manufactures. None of our other campers had this issue however none of them were electric either.
