Title: Screen door latch
Post by: bakr211 on September 13, 2016, 07:15:20 PM
My screen door latch is about an inch too short to catch the door frame to be secure. Has anyone encountered this issue and has a solution? When I sent a pic my dealer service rep suggested that they could fabricate something to the door frame to secure it And that the latch can't be adjusted. I have taken it apart and pretty much surmised the same thing. The dealership is 240 miles away, and needless to say, I'm not making a trip just for that. Suggestions, fixes?

[font size="3"]That's a totally different latch than I've ever seen on a CL. Must be one of the "new Thor upgrades".

How odd. I can't tell for sure how it's supposed to work, but it looks like the latch doesn't even come to the edge of the door?  Maybe start over with another latch?

That's the latch used on our screen door, too. It isn't very good.

I ran into the same problem on my 2016 16DBS.  The latch did extend slightly past the frame, but not far enough to keep dogs from forcing the door open.  I ended up loosening the screen door mounting hardware on the other side of the door, pulling the screen door towards the latch and screwed down the mounting points.  It was enough to extend the latch further past the door frame.

I will share that with my son-in-law who was going to create a plate at the latch area.
