We had so much fun last year we decided to do it again this year! So we shove off tomorrow but this time we'll be traversing the northern routes and hopefully we'll wander into some less humid, cooler climates. Eastern NC has been ridiculously HOT and HUMID this summer!!!
As last year, I will be updating the same blog < [a href="http://whygoheavy.blogspot.com/"]link[/a] > for my family, friends and any of you inquiring minds here that might want to check in on us from time to time.
Who knows, maybe we'll even meet some of you LivinLite campers along the way :D

We just came west. We went to northern Illinois and followed I-90 west. Custer State Park and the Badlands are incredible! I wanted to go to Deadwood, but hubby said it was just for tourists.
On our way back home, we will follow I-94 for the northern route. What fun awaits!

In Bismarck, ND tonight at the KOA. Having a blast. Note: 1900 miles with zero CampLite sightings..
That's a great route west. Roosevelt National Park has prairie dogs that are a hoot.
Yea, we're enjoying this route better than last year's. Better time of year too. We're 'pretty much' following the Lewis & Clark trail, but didn't know it. Today we stopped off at Pompeys Pillar Monument, BLM, which was totally awesome. Tonight just relaxing at the original KOA in Billings, MT. Montana is a campers paradise!
Next stop is Helena. We'll base camp there for a week where we can daytrip Yellowstone, Glacier, and a few other notable sites.
We also stayed at the Billings KOA too. Fancy place! But about 1:30AM, a broken sprinkler hose shot a geyser of water right at the side of our camper and woke us up quick. I ran outside to see what the crazy noise was. It only lasted about 15 minutes while the sprinklers were programmed to run, but we couldn't get back to sleep for a long time.

I bet that was a little hard to get over.. We're in the back by the pond. Woke up and walked around this morning and the place is jam packed.
Spent the last 2 days in Yellowstone, headed to Glacier tomorrow. The views are amazing and worth putting up with the hordes of people, but only barely.
We are west of Billings - quite a bit, in Clinton MN. I talked to my husband about the KOA there. We might stop there after reading what you said about it.
There was a bear in this campground 3 days ago. Wonder if Bear will come back for another visit?
Omg!, no bear sightings yet but we are keeping our site very clean just in case. We're in West Glacier, MT for 3 days right now. Plan to hike around the National Park tomorrow.
Btw, if you're in MN you're east of Billings ?

Still not one LivinLite siting on the trip yet..
We're in the Black Hills of SD now and getting to the end of the trip. We pull out the 15th, Thursday morning, and plan to hammer down back to NC. We might spend a night or two in the NC mountains on the way home, depending on how we feel when we get there? A fun trip again, but this will be our last coast to coast trip for awhile, if ever. We plan to spend a lot more time east of the Mississippi for the foreseeable future.
Home again.. 7 weeks, 8400 miles. The camper is a tank, zero issues.
