Title: Dog Kennel Mod
Post by: drake on July 16, 2016, 06:58:50 PM
We used to lug around fold up metal kennels for our French Bulldog and Boston Terrier . . . no longer!

Used the space on each side of the bed and made these out of aluminum "L" channels, flat stock, some left over square tubing from deck rails and rubberized linen shelf.  I tried hard to minimize the number of holes I added to the camper so it would not be an issue when we sell it.  The tops came out really sturdy, no problem stacking stuff on them, thought we try to keep them unblocked so the dogs don't feel like they're in a cave.

Hmm, can't get the images inserted for some reason, here is a link.

Wow! That looks very slick. I just hope the doggies don't have bad breath. ( I know I wouldn't want to have my head sleeping so close to our bad-breath Westie).

Just a thought - my dogs like caves - the feeling of a den

Ha, they have pretty fresh breath, and our heads are at the other end.

Interesting about the dens, I will try covering them sometime.

Yikes! the other end of a dog can be quite challenging as well! 8-|

(Although I'm making fun of it, I still I think it is a great idea & very well executed).

Looks like it would be harder to get out of the bed. We have 2 small dogs also. I'm trying to figure out a place for ours also. We usually get up for bathroom visits during the night and don't want to "crawl" over the other.
