Anyone know what the black sealant is that is underneath the corner trim? Whatever it is, it is very strong. Basically the corner trim is glued in place with it, then screwed on.
I need to know because there is a gap in ours at the front edge, and when towing in extremely windy conditions, the wind actually works in behind it and bows out the side panel enough that the leading corner pops out from under the trim. Took me over an hour yesterday to work the panel back into place behind the trim. This is the second time it has happened, and both times were while towing in very windy conditions.
it is putty tape. they also use it under the outer rings for the fans/covers. it is a pain to get off. about the best way (after getting the piece off it is holding on) is to make a ball of it and roll it back and forth.
here is what i used as a replacement (grey but same stuff)
