Title: Condensate Under Mattress

We had a QS 6.0 & now a 16 TBS. Both campers attract moisture under the mattresses. I am attribute this to warm bodies, higher humitdity and was wondering if anyone knows how thick of a foam mattress it takes to stop the condensate?

No ideas, but I'm wondering if something like this under the mattress could reduce the issue?

It still beats wood under the mattress! We have 8" mattresses in our 16TBS and have yet to get condensation in variety of temperatures while camping, ranging from 35 to 85 degrees F. When I get a chance, I'm going to insulate the beds from below in the luggage compartment and I think that will eliminate the possibility of any future problems in high humidity camping areas.

It's not the mattress. It's physics.

The moisture always forms on the warm, moist side of a surface when the other side is cold. Kinda like a beer can outside in the summer while the beer is still cold.

You would need some sort of insulation. Either on the outside (kinda funky on a camper but much like insulation in an attic, or a moisture barrier below the mattress, then insulation, then the floor. That keeps the warm away from the inside surface of the aluminum.

So you need a coozie for the inside of your camper.

Or one could ask, exactly what are you doing in there to create such a temperature difference, know what I mean, nudge nudge, know what I mean.

I suppose Pin's answer is the more appropriate though.
