Title: Just joined the group/ purchased VRV 8.5x24
Post by: stever on June 24, 2016, 10:50:20 PM
I plan on using the camper as is now but potentially in the next couple of years use the toy hauler as a base for work camping.  I want to take out the sofa and maybe the dinette and table.  Add a couple of recliners that are made for RVs.  I will be adding a mattress right off and tossing the factory one.  I believe there is really good potential to add storage for my tools and be comfortable for extended trips without a lot of heavy modifications.   I wll be towing with a Toyota Tundra and just starting to research if I need sway or weight distribution.  I doubt I ever come close to maxing out gross on the trailer.  I said the same thing about a 20MB seagate hard drive in 1989 though. ?

Picking up trailer next week.

Yes I did. It is tagged with a June 20th date.  Trying to decide what I want to do for a hitch.  Researching this site and in general.  The dealer does not seem to be familiar Anderson.  It is a 10 hour drive for me to pick up and I could purchase and take one up with me if I pick the right drop.

I debated quite a bit about what to do for WDH. I ended up just getting an adjustable height ball and the Sherline tongue weight scale to make sure I was level and at 10-12% tongue weight. Haven't had a problem towing, but I don't have a ton of miles on it yet.
