My 2016/ BHB13 has wheel wells that are not sealed with anything more than what appears to be foam tape (not even screwed down to the floor on the inside). The wheel wells were sealed so poorly I had water all over the floor after driving through heavy rain.
Can't anyone make a good quality product anymore. I won't mention poor workmanship...(stripped screws every where) , cheap equipment (TV/FM antenna) and electrical wiring mess.
I paid good, hard earned money for a product that was suppose to be above other cheaper, wood framed trailers.
I could say I'm not a happy camper but that would be pretty cheesy... ;) Lets just say I'm tired of having to fix other peoples lack of pride in their work!
I believe someone else on this board had a similar issue.
Yeah, me too!
First time driving in the rain, my 2016 TB left wheel well leaked on around front and back of storage area. Thinking about returning to dealer for a fix?
What was your solution?
TIA

Dirk, very well put....cheap workmanship....no pride. All I have been doing since I purchased my 2016 13QBB is fixing and re-doing things that should have been done at the factory. Thankfully I'm somewhat handy and retired so I have some skills and the time to do it. It's frustrating, because I see some things that I think are actually overbuilt so hats off to the engineers and design team but the assembly and quality control of production is poor at best. I have done so many things, some simple, some more involved to my camper, things that should have been done and included by Livin Lite. At the end of the day I'm very happy with my 13QBB, it has good bones. I just wish the new "powers that be" at Livn Lite would wake up and smell the coffee. You bought into a great company...don't screw it up! I don't want to feel quilty recommending this product to a friend. Now I'm off to Lowes to purchase some silicone to seal my wheel wells ???

As the service manager at my RV dealership told me, they pay the workers minimum wage and pressure them for fast production. Simply put, you get what you pay for.
Can't imagine what a trailer would cost if they actually paid the workmen a decent wage. Robots, anyone??
People need to be fearless about rejecting during the PDI, and also about returning to the dealer for warranty work.
The screws they use are easily stripped, being stainless steel and thus softer. Not an excuse.
Leaks from underneath has been an issue since day 1. But really, everyone should spend a few minutes under their trailer at night, with the lights on inside. Look for light, and run some sealant. Silicone maybe. The weatherproof expanding form there necessary. This will not only seal out water, but insects and rodents.
I used an entire tube of silicone caulk on each wheel well and a can of expanding foam on floor holes trying to keep water and creatures out. Remedial work has been almost overwhelming on my trailer and I let the LL manager know that at the PNW rally. Great design and materials but really poor assembly.
Did you have to take off the tires to seal you wheel wells?

Depends how limber you are.
But a good job to combine with repacking the bearings.
Took our 16 TBS back to the dealer last month for this same issue & it was covered under the warranty.
Yes, take off the wheels. You can't see or get at the cracks on the inner outside of the wells with the tires in the way. As Pinstriper noted, it's a great time to shoot some fresh grease into the hubs (As well as carefully check the inside sidewall of the tires for damage/cracks.)

I also took off the wheels to accomplish this project. I used Vulkem sealant which is a hyper sticky, and very effective, sealant / adhesive. They don't sell it at my local Lowe's or Home Depot so I ordered it from Amazon.
I also had to use silicone caulk in the shower due to an obvious seam left open by the factory.
I most of this stuff at home as I don't like dealing with dealers regarding warranty stuff, I'm avoiding runaround... I also acknowledge I'm enabling the quality control problems to persist. I figure if I want something done right I need to do it myself.

Hey:
How is the BHB13 working out? I am thinking of buying a 2017 14DBS, but I am nervous about some of the frame weld cracking and other quality issues (leaks, material failure...) that I have been reading about on this site.
Can I check the wheel wells for leaks during an inspection?
So the TV and the FM antenna is disappointing? How about the stereo system?
Thanks!
The stereo system is your typical car radio with CD player, USB port, and I think maybe bluetooth. Removable faceplate because you can't buy a radio without that anymore but not for any good reason. 4 meh speakers on the ceiling. We turned it on during the PDI to make sure it works, and never since. The blue glow is so bright you can read at night, so we took the faceplate off and have it stored....I dunno, somewhere I guess.

And I will, one day when I find the faceplate, and if I remember to.
