I (Dave @ D&H RV Center) was able to secure the first working double slide model from Livin Lite. Last thing I want to do is make this blog a "dealer sale" place, but I thought you all might like to see this new floor plan. It's not going to be available for quite some time. It was a test to see if it would be received by the market. I really do like the camper. It is a steel frame, all composite side, floor, and roof. It's fiberglass laminated to Azdel. So, still no wood except the faces of the cabinets.
Anyway, very cool floor plan. Ultra light, power awning, jack, and stabilizers.

Don't really care for it. To me, it is another example of how LivinLite is being turned into just another camper company. Glad I have my 2013.
For those that need/want the space, this could be a great option. It now looks like every other RV out there, but we all know it's what on the inside that counts. ;) (Or so I'm told.)
I think I see a steel frame in the one picture of the front hitch similar to the ford branded LL?
Perhaps an all-aluminum travel trailer appeals to a niche market, perhaps too small of a niche to Thor's liking. I can't fault Thor for wanting to sell as many travel trailers as they can. However, that leaves those of us who want the durability of an aluminum trailer scratching our heads about where to go.
They will still be making the all aluminum units. In fact, you can even get the all aluminum cabinets again if you like. They were testing the fiberglass sides to see how the market accepted it. We'll always love the all aluminum version, but there are some advantages to the fiberglass as well. The key is that they are truly a "no rot" camper.
It took them a year or so, but it appears as though they are really dialing in on their production. We've been very pleased with the units over the last few months.
I did notice on your site that the MSRP is much lower. That could be a plus if they create an additional low cost line of rot proof campers.
The design is just like any number of campers on the market. Instead of controlling a specific part of the market they are just another "also ran" and in that category are a bunch of better equipped models with better features for the price.
Looks like my next toyhauler will be an atc (once we outgrow our pre Thor livin lite)
I don't like the bed so open. It feels like your sleeping in the kitchen. A partition with door(s) is what my wife and I prefer. That gives us great darkness to sleep like babies!
I like the no rot, though.

That, by itself, would likely steer us away from that product - the aluminum frame for us was a major selling point, and we'd probably look elsewhere if looking to replace our 21BHS.

I think it is a neat concept. I truly believe potential owners will always be more concerned with the no rot issue than the rust issue. In all my years I never had anyone tell me that they needed to get rid of their unit because it completely rusted away. Water damage and rot will always be the biggest concern to anyone purchasing a rig. I posted earlier on another thread about finding steel in my rig and I how frustrated I was on the finding. I was truly upset because I was completely unaware of it and believed I had an all alum trailer. I paid good money and believed I purchased a unit like they advertised. Now if Thor advertises this rig with a different slogan then the customer will not be misled by what their trailer contains in the construction. I also wish Thor would have named this concept under a different name and just left the all alum trailer under the CAMPLITE brand. My concern with this new product and different construction under the same name brand will cause confusion on the resale/used market. I like the idea of multiple slides, steel frame (people with larger tow vehicles, ability to use a beefier WD system and true rear bumper to haul bikes), and the added floor space. My dislikes are the windows and the use of the Camplite brand. PS- still not sold of the new roof system.
For sure... have had other brands and the floor rot and other things to worry about is the reason we were sold on CL. Hope we never have to replace ours but if we do we will go with another brand. Aluminum is the way to go and this was the only type we found with much research.(Why be like all others...different is special!) There is a market for special.
Hummm, not to impressed with that double slide. I guess a divider of some kind, (for the bedroom ) might make it more appealing.

When we were ordering our 21BHS, I practically begged for the all-aluminum cabinets. We have wood. Just saying...[/quote]I did not order a 13QHB. I did buy one last week that had been siting on the lot of the dealer for probably 6 months. It was sold to me as a New trailer, produced in 2016.
All of the cabinet surfaces are plastic laminate. I know, I used to do kitchen remodels years ago
" don't replace,reface" I wish they were aluminum (frames are and door edges) but no rot...I just don't like laminate.
My dealer, Sunny Island, told me that they will order aluminum cabinets. However, that was while LL was still with Crossroads.
I saw this unit the day it arrived and watched the slides open. I am impressed with the wide open interior. and kitchen layout. Yes, it has a steel fram as Dave from D&H stated. I purchased a 2013 21 ft rear bath from D&H and am pleased with it. No intention of replacing.
Oh wow... Crappy pull up blinds like I saw on every other travel trailer we looked at. It's nice that it's still "no rot", but all the little touches that really made me appreciate it and want to own it, are leaving. They jettisoned the windows as well.
My 2016 has the wood exterior cabinets...which aren't too bad actually...but all this other stuff crosses the threshold where I likely would have searched out for a used Camplite and remained patient.

I just noticed this today...... Before you completely pull-up the blinds. This was a prototype that got Camp Lite graphics applied to it. It was never intended to be branded as Camp Lite. It does have a steel frame, and unlike Camp Lite has fiberglass side walls. It does not have the Camp Lite European dual pane windows and aluminum baggage doors, nor the aluminum frame. The slides utilize a different mechanism. The appliances used and construction techniques even differ. Basically the only thing that is Camp Lite is the graphic.
