Does anyone have a solution to keeping the cabinet door open above the queen bed at the front of a 21 BHS when removing stored items. My wife says she hears a hollow echo every time the door hits my head? Is there any way to determine where the aluminum studs/rafters are located?

Here is a link to some door supports that we had installed on the doors over the queen bed in our 21BHS. They are like little mini pistons that expand and retract to hold the door open. They work great! We had no idea about how to install them, so we had the dealer do it one time when we had the camper in for some other work. You just need one per cabinet door and they aren't very expensive.

Easiest fix is to simply unscrew them and let them hang down when opened. Takes about a half hour.
I flipped my upside down too. Easy and brilliant solution from Pete. With the 16DB having no sideroom around the Queen bed it was the best option.
Here are pictures of the door supports. Once I saw how they were installed, it doesn't seem like they would be that hard to do yourself. I believe they would need to be extended (pull out the piston arm) prior to putting it in the proper place. Then mark the holes and drill. They really work well and hide themselves under the cabinet door face when closed. Nothing to drill in the ceiling of the trailer to hold them open.

[font size="3"]Thanks for the pix. You have the newer wood cabinet doors/facing. The pistons mount easily because they were designed for standard household wood cabinets. The original Camplites have aluminum aircraft type cabinets that do not lend themselves to easy installation of those openers. I bought a set, but decided it took too much modification to mount them. Your solution seems ideal for the newer wood cabinets. They should be standard from the factory.
