[/p][p]I have owned a 2013 13QBB tan and now a 2016 21 bhs Black in color. How I wish I could go back and rethink my color choice when I purchased this new rig. I doubt the product has changed but I feel like scratches appear more today than with my old unit. I am aware that scratches show up more on black surfaces than lighter, but it is hard for me to believe my older unit had this many and I could not see them. I baby my units and I am just amazed at how these scratches even appear. At this rate my new rig will need to be repainted (if that can even be done) in a few years to come. Not really looking for a solution, but more of a warning to people on this board who are planning a future purchase. [/p]
You can use automotive paint. You can even change the color. :)
All you have to do is pay for it!
I'm thinking of having my 21RBS repainted to match my rigs.... It's called "Toxic Orange" Dodge renamed it to be PC. It was "Come Get Me Copper"
Moonshine & Bella are ready to go camping.

Thanks for the tip on color choice. I didn't realize scratches would be an issue in dark colors. I like the charcoal gray but that may be too dark also. My concern with dark colors is they absorb heat. The a/c would be taxed in hot weather with dark colors while camping directly in the sun.
We almost bought a black themed MH, thank goodness we didn't.
How does your F-150 handle the 21BHS? We are considering the 21BHS. They have made some nice upgrades like the countertops and wood doors. The TPO roof appears to be good. Is your unit the original unit or does it have any of the upgrades? Have you had any problems? Do you prefer the sofa or dinette? Any other comments?

[p]My ford f150 5.4 V8 seems to handle the rig just fine. It knows it is back there when we go up hills but other than that she pulls it with ease. I have yet to install the Andersen sway/WD system. My plans are to have it installed before we hit our first long trip in June. We just have not taken the camper long distance yet on any freeways. My biggest concern is the side winds. The truck drops about 1 1/2 inches when we hook up, but we remain level during the tow. Gas mileage blows but I expected that!

[/p][p]Our BHS is kind of in between. Our unit was built in early 2016 so we still have the full metal roof on ours however we have new cabinets and flooring which makes my bride happy!!! We love our rig and really have not experienced any major issues. Now that does not mean some smaller issues have not already been addressed! This new rig seems to have been left out when it came to the final attention to details (trim work cut a little short, missing caulking around kitchen area, outlets crooked, etc.). This could all be the product of big business cutting corners but who knows. I still believe that my older 13 QBB unit was built better than this one but still very pleased with the product and will continue to back it. We have the dinette floorplan and works great for my family of three. Just make sure the person sitting over the wheel well has shorter legs.

[/p][p]We decided to not be real picky when it came to the choice of color because we really did not have that many options in our area. We found a couple other 21 foot units within 4 hour drive, but none were the BHS model . Unwilling to travel much further we decided to just go with the darker color since the unit just arrived at a dealership a few hours away.

[/p][p]OH!!! Get a unit that has two steps on it unless you are long legged. My 5 foot wife has a pain of a time entering our unit!!!!!

Yes, you will be happy with the Andersen WDH which provides food sway control, which really helps in windy conditions (good to have it before going on a long trip). We have a 21BHS as well and were very glad to have the Andersen setup on a long trip to FL in January and February (one day when we had a 6 hour drive there were very high winds and i don't know how it would have handled without it because it was borderline difficult that day even with it).
Regarding the 21BHS itself, we are very happy and satisfied with it. Ours was made in November 2015 and is exactly like yours (aluminum roof, new interior). Yes, we had some fit and finish issues with the trim inside, etc., but overall are very pleased with how it is constructed and how it performs. Enjoy your new camper as we are enjoying ours!!
