I figured I'd get things kicked off with a quick introduction and welcome message. I wanted to start this forum as an easier place to meet and discuss these awesome campers and the RV lifestyle. Please keep in mind this is very much a work in progress and I hope to always be improving on the design and function of this forum. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to reach out and I'll be happy to chat.
A little about me:
I've been camping all my life and starting out in a little dome tent. I've been in just about everything from a sleeping bag under the start, a tent, a traditional Coleman pop-up, an Aero Cub hybrid travel trailer, and now a Quicksilver 10.0. One day I'm sure I'll try out a larger fifth wheel or maybe something even larger, we shall see :). I love the out doors and spend as much time out in the wild as time allows. It helps that my family loves it just as much as I do.
I got hooked on the Quicksilver line when I decided I didnt want to give up my Jeep Wrangler (only a 4cyl) but still wanted to have a few upgrades over a tent. The 10.0 is about the max I should tow but it only has to last until my Jeep Wagoneer project is done.
If there is anything else you want to know just ask 8-)

This is Scott Tuttle, President of LIVIN LITE Recreational Vehicles. It is my intention to get more of our personnel on this forum, from sales to engineering to service/parts/warranty, in order to have better, open communication with our customers, potential customers and just lightweight camping enthusiasts. I have officially asked the members of the YAHOO GROUP - LIVIN LITE OWNERS to consider forming a "owners council" that can oversee this site and help develop it into the type of forum that we all hope this can become. I see that SEAN is one of the first here, and is mentioned as "administrator". I hope that you will be open to having some of the veterans from the other forum join you as administrators/moderators and council members.
This new forum is going to need to have a number of sections on it - and I am going to suggest that first and foremost, it should be broken up by the different product catagories, and then the different model/brand names within those categories. To start out with, I would suggest making the categories be: Automotive Tent Campers; Automotive Travel Trailers (up to 16'); Lightweight Travel Trailers (21' and Above); Lightweight Truck Campers; Lightweight Toy Haulers; Lightweight 5th Wheels; and Specialty Trailers.
Then, amongst the Automotive Tent Campers, you would have sections for QUICKSILVER; BEARCAT; JEEP; and COLEMAN.
Amongst the Automotive Trailer Trailers, you would have CAMPLITE and BEARCAT (offroad)
Amongst the Lightweight Travel Trailers (21' and above) you would have CAMPLITE
Amongst the Lightweight Toy Haulers you would have QUICKSILVER VRV; AXXESS; BEARCAT; POLARIS; and 5th WHEELS.
Amongst the Lightweight 5th Wheels you would have CAMPLITE and ALUMALITE (coming soon).
Amongst the Specialty Trailers you would have GAMEDAY Trailers; RACEDAY Trailers; Custom Trailers; REAL TREE Hunting Campers
I think that will do it and give you a good start to set up this forum. Within each of the categories, under a specific brand name, you could make templates for all kinds of discussions, including "Ask the Factory" where someone from here would do their best to answer the questions put forth by customers and potential customers.
Hopefully, we will get a lot of customer photos on the site, as well as people sharing ideas for how to make your camper better (both for others and for us at the factory). I know that we have a number of customer provided photos and testimonials that we can provide to help get it populated!

I like those categories. Helps to clarify the purposes for which the products are designed. For example, there are the smaller trailers suited for cars/SUVs, and the somewhat larger units suited for pickups. I also think the "Ask the Factory" category would be terrific; but there would need to have people from LivinLite committed to answering the questions so the company doesn't look like they aren't listening. From the more generic groups, it appears as though being attentive to your customers' (and potential customers') questions/needs would easily distinguish LivinLite from most other manufacturers.

Those categories should work, but I would like to keep some kind of general category within each of the main categories (and a general main category). That way if someone has a question that any Camplite owner could answer, they don't need to pick between 16', 21+', toy hauler, or 5th wheel. Same thing goes for modifications. Many of the modifications that people make are useful to a larger group than their specific trailer.
The "Ask the factory" category would be awesome. I think it would work best as it's own main category with separate boards for "pre-sale", "service", "warranty", etc...
I am certainly open to having help from any of the members that would like to join. As we grow this community it makes great sense to have at least a few overall admins, and then a number of moderators for respective boards.
I do like the category suggestions as well and feel like we were on the right track so far. I'll look into getting the categories better organized with the suggestions. Depending on how quickly this community grows I may need another admin's help sooner rather than later to keep things moving.
[font size="3"][font face="arial"]My two cents worth on forum organization: To start out we should avoid too fine a segregation between models. As others have said, many ideas, mods, and comments are applicable to multiple models. As a 21RBS owner I will be watching posts on all sizes of Camplite trailers, 13' through 28'. Their construction,problems, solutions and improvements will all be pretty much common. Although the QS tent camper issues will be of lesser interest to me I don't mind clicking to a different category for them Same for toy haulers and other specialty models.
So I'll second comments from Tinkeringtechie and Doug, especially re the Ask the Factory section. Here is the opportunity for factory derived solutions to become part of the permanent record subject to future reference by searching, and for the factory to get real time feedback from users. But Doug's comment re factory attention, or inattention, is spot on. If not attended it will be just like all other product "Contact Us" clicks.....A Black Hole. We can be better than that!

Thanks for setting this up! Categories are great, but I'm with Charlie that interesting posts could get lost with too many categories. Would it be better to start with fewer categories until seeing how things shake out?

I'm Tony from Minnesota. I have been camping since young, and have gone through tents, two Starcraft popups, and most recently a Quicksilver 5.0. Most of my camping is at bluegrass festivals and Minnesota state parks, accompanied at the parks by Ollie, our Yellow Lab. The photo next to this post is of what I consider one of the best things in the world - waking up in my 5.0 on a beautiful sunny day.

Kool Karen and I live in N GA. We just bought a Ford Flex as a tow vehicle, and have placed a deposit on a CampLite 21BHS at a dealer near Chicago, which we should be picking up in about 2 weeks.
