Title: Gibbs Gardens one hour north of Atlanta
Post by: montedtrotter1 on March 15, 2016, 07:03:41 AM
This is a day trip we took last week, did not camp out but simply want to pass on some info on an amazing place to visit in north Georgia. Gibbs Gardens is 220 acres of landscaped North GA rolling hills and forest. Currently, 20 million daffodils are blooming! I did not count them but somebody has dug a lot of holes over the past 40 years, again simply amazing! They have planted many varieties that will bloom from March 1, to April 15. The garden has been a work in process for 40 plus years and includes every flowering plant you can think that will grow in GA. Something is said to be blooming most of the year. Words nor pictures can describe it. It's sort of like the Biltmore House in Asheville, you just have to see it. We purchased a yearly pass to go back at different times of the year to see what is blooming.

You can type in Gibbs Gardens GA and the website will come up. This is not your routine botanical garden, make sure you have your best walking shoes on! There are many several nice GA State Parks to camp at that are a short drive to Gibbs Gardens.
