Title: XPro hose 50'
Post by: shark24 on May 10, 2014, 12:44:10 AM
Has anyone used one of these for water supply to camper. Thought it might be easier to store.

It's a neat idea, but I don't think it's made for drinking water. Usually garden hoses will impart a "rubbery" taste to the water that probably isn't very healthy either.

We will have to take water to drink anyway since we have our own well water and that is what we are use to drinking so I guess it would work for everything else.

Thanks

I don't get it. I can't see being at a campsite 50' away from the water supply. I have like a 10 footer, and it doesn't even get stretched out.

None of the X-Pro hoses are rated for drinking water. Won't kill you - not outright, anyway, probably take a few years - but I'm not seeing the need for a 50' water supply hose.

We have the best well water in the world, but for a weekend we bring 3-4 milk jugs full of home water for drinking/cooking/teethbrushing, and boil the local stuff for washing dishes.

Are you bringing it in bottles or in your holding tank?

Bottled and gallon jugs for drinking water and I think the shortest Xpro hose is 25'. Thanks for the information. We haven't camped in over 10 years. Working on getting a few items before we get our LL : )

I'd still get a white hose. Your showers will smell like rubber and I wouldn't want to use that for washing dishes either.

That's where I got my hose.  It is a Camco.
