My mother spent the last 30 years of her life in Florida. She told me that it never rains all day. The showers move past, and then she could enjoy life. Well, today it rained all day, after raining most of the night. We woke up this morning to find our camper surrounded by water. At the end of the day, the water is even deeper. My husband just asked me if our trailer could float!
Assure your Hubby that LL trailers float just fine.....through the air with Florida'a untimely tornadoes this year!
The lesson here is "never say never". But then, I just said it.

The only time we changed our plans was for mealtime. I just can't cook when I am standing in ankle-deep water. So, we mado do by eating in restaurants for 2 days. You gotta do what you gotta do. ::)
BTW, did you know that fire ants can swim, or at least float?

Reminds me of camping in Edisto Beach, SC last November:

Glad we were pretty much squared away in our spot - those lakes had NOT been there the night before!
I don't know about bears, but I do believe flooding in the south brings out the snakes (!!)
Yikes-er-roonie! Fire Ants, snakes and picnicking bears. Head this way folks -- all we have to deal with a mosquitoes. It's true they are the size of dinner saucers but not too much of a problem if you have a shot gun. (Here in Canada we aren't allowed to have AK-47s but we don't mind 'cuz automatics suck at shooting the mosquitoes. Shotguns don't require as good an aim and the shells are cheaper).

At least sometimes there's fair warning:

Near Sea Level, NC!
Totally agree on the mosquitoes. Was up to PEI a few years ago for Canada Day for a week and they were horrid.
Couldn't step foot outside after dusk without being covered in them.
Actually wearing my PEI Dirt shirt today.
