Title: Better get Maaco
Post by: shovelhead on July 20, 2015, 05:30:43 PM
Call me crazy..... But
I'm thinking about having my 21RBS painted to match my RAM 1500 TV.
With the various decal issues giving me reason to think about a repaint.
Too bad Earl Scheib isnt around like the old days "Paint any car $39.95" ;)

As I recall, your tv is RED. I like red. I say - go for it!

sweet...i thought of this too. It would be nice to have a clear coat as well. I find the trees rub through the CL paint at the slightest contact. it could be the dark grey but I find it odd there is not harder paint on these units. The blackout paint seems to be a step above though.

would you take all the trim off?  was also thinking you could do a vinyl advertising type wrap as well...kinda like what they put on the city transit busses 8-)

Other campers often comment on how the Jeep and the camper are color coordinated. One day I was sitting outside at a campground, and a man walking by commented on my color coordinated tea kettle. Who knows where this could lead?

Yep, Ma's ready for a color change away from red....except in the White House - 2016!

[p]And every year thereafter.. I remember a certain Monte Carlo that the paint just flew right off the car in the wind...lol[/p][p]
[/p][p]No matter how hard I wax and buff my LL just won't shine. I tend to think of it as flat bronze drab now, running with the big boyz...heh heh heh.

How about a flat black job?  Then you'd have a "Rat Camp".

We saw a new Ram at a beachside campground with the entire exterior done in, get this, spray-on bedliner black.  One 'bad' look for sure, tough finish that will last.  Never have seen this before or since.

Seen a couple of those myself in the past few years. Older trucks but you are right looks like crap. It must be cheaper then a good paint job or there are those that might just like the look ???

Yeah, not what the average person would want to do to a nice truck, but it did catch our attention.  We'll stick with our red Ram, our second one!  Last one, a red Ram 1500 with Hemi.  Liked it a lot too, just didn't get very good gas mileage.

Oh well, to each his own. Yup I know what you mean about gas mileage with the Hemi. I get 18 around town and 11 when towing the 21BHS. Only drive the truck to and from work and swap out with our Honda Pilot occasionally. This is my first full size truck and I bought it 2 months before the Ecodeisel came out. Isn't timing everything  :( . Drive the wife's Prius on weekends or when we are going anywhere but camping.
