Title: Bug guts, bird poop removal
Post by: geo92128 on July 15, 2015, 08:50:44 AM
Reading posts about CL washing prompted me to enter a bug removal process that actually works in seconds!

1. Take a dryer sheet used for softening/anti-cling and place one in a spray bottle. Add water about 1/3 full. I use two sheets and fill half way.

2. Let this solution soak a few minutes.

3. Spray solution on bug guts, bird poop, highway grim etc, then wipe away with another dryer sheet.

4. This method actually works as described on the internet; not sure who came up with this remedy but glad he did!

5. Some guys with exotic cars claim this may leave small scratches but I have used it on my Honda and Chevy with no problems or scratches just amazed at how easy gunk is removed. I keep this in a spray bottle and use it after each road trip for quick bug removal before a car wash. It does leave a light residue that is easily washed off.

Lots of uses for dryer sheets..... In a pinch use them as a bug repellant. (on your bod)  Ladies rub your nylons and dress to keep static down.

I have been washing my own car for 45 years or so and have purchased just about every cleaner out there; nothing comes close to the dryer sheet and water for removing bugs! I have also heard about hanging one from your pocket to deter bugs at camp; I am putting some dryer sheets in the TT for trial on the next trip.
