Title: 13QBB - aisle width
Post by: bgewin on June 26, 2015, 11:42:19 AM
I have been unable to find a 13QBB on a dealer lot (within reasonable travel distance) to look at in person.

Can someone provide the following measurements for the 13QBB?  I'm most interested in the dinette layout, but information about the sofa layout would also be helpful.

1. Width of aisle between the cabinet with sink/stove and the dinette?

2. Depth of sink/stove cabinet top, front edge to wall?

3. Dinette seat measurements, both width and length?

4. Depth of the rear cabinetry that contains the refrigerator, wet bath and closet?

Thanks.

I'll get those for you in a bit.

Width of aisle from sink to edge of the dinette is 29.5" (measured from the edge of sink box not the countertop edge)

Cabinet above the sink to the wall is 14"

Depth of cabinet above the fridge is 23.5"

Depth of the sink cabinet (you didn't ask for this but here it is) is 25.5"

Dinette seats are 26.5" wide (wide in this case being the short, right to left axis, of the camper) by 20.5" deep (the long axis of the camper)

If you need anything else just ask.

Thank you for your quick response. Very helpful.  I'm very seriously considering the 13QBB to meet my travel wishes for 1 person and 2 dogs.  But, that means 2 human feet and 8 paws need floor space to stand and move around.

I'm also considering that after I get the trailer, I might modify the Queen to be a Twin size bed to open up more space.  I've looked at several photos on-line and it seems do-able.  It looks like the outside access door that goes under the Queen would be partly in the uncovered area that would be created by reducing the platforms size and moving the front edge support back, but I think I could live with that.

Do you think this would be a do-able modification with access to proper tools and abilities? Or, is there something structural about the bed platform that I cannot see from photos that would make not do-able?

Thanks

If I understand what you're thinking you'd be changing the layout by reconfiguring the dinette and reducing the bed size by cutting the bed platform down on the left side as you face forward.  I think it could be done but you'd need to do some work fabricating a new frame for the bed platform and changing hinge locations.  You are correct that the outside access door would now be exposed.  The other thing that may be a real issue is the water heater.  It's located at the far left hand corner so I wouldn't think you'd want to expose it.  The only real floor space you'd gain would be the area now exposed by the outside access door.  You're bed would be like it is now except you'd have a notch that was 26.5 in wide and access door size deep cut out of it.

As far as the dinette goes the seat boxes both have something under them so you wouldn't be able to just remove them.  The rear seat is over the furnace and the front seat is over the water pump and the electrical setup. The dinette does lower into a small bed by the way.

All that being said, in my opinion, for one person and 2 dogs you really don't need to change it at all. I travel with my wife and one dog and that's roughly the equivalent. (2 paws fewer I suppose)  The dog sleeps on the dinette/bed and we have the queen.  If it were me and 2 dogs it would be me and a dog on the queen and one dog on the dinette bed.  The moving around part is a bit tight no matter what.

Happy to answer any other questions I can.
