Title: Brake Controllers
Post by: kycamper on June 20, 2015, 02:50:34 PM
I have the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 brake controller on my 21 RBS. Tow vehicle is a Suburban. I was wondering what setting you are at with similar setup. Watching my trailer wheels " lock up " at 25 mph is something I can't quite grasp. Thanks, and Happy Trails

I have the same brake controller, mine is setup at about 6.0 when it's the maximum braking power, but I only have 13QBB

I set mine so that the trailer brakes lock up on gravel, but not on dry pavement.

Same controller as you (P2) set at 7.

I too have this break controller.
I can't remember what it's set to right now, but weight in the trailer might change what it needs to be. What I like to do before leaving for a trip is to use the manual lever to test the breaking. If it takes too long to stop, I turn it up, it the tries lock up, I dial it down. It's important to test before getting on Route since I'm sure locking up on the highway would scare the graph out of my wife... and most probably myself also.

Safe travels.
