Title: 2013 LivinLite Truck Camper 10.0
Post by: lap527 on April 08, 2014, 03:33:45 PM
Greetings, We have had our truck camper just at a year now.  Few problems along the way with it. The pass through window would blow back into the camper and husband carved a stick to create pressure around the frame so we fixed that.  The back door had to be replaced. Last fall the fridge also had to be replaced. The replacement of door and fridge was under warranty.  The fridge is still giving us fits! It works perfect sitting in our yard, dealers' parking lot or in a campground.  However, when traveling the temperature goes up.  Yesterday on the way home in 3 hours it went up 7 degrees. The fridge doesn't throw any codes either.   We use a wireless sensor so we don't have to open the door but it's aggravating because if we travel a long distance our fridge is about useless.  We are now thinking it has to be some type of air flow or flame issue.   Does anyone have any ideas as how to fix it? Our truck is a dually with the swing out on the front jacks. Husband thinks swing outs maybe be creating some type of vacuum in the lower fridge compartment drawing air from top side vent down and blowing out flame, we have the two side vents.  We have owned all kinds of campers and so far have been lucky with the refrigerators until now.  All of that being said we like our TC a lot, no wood to rot, no delamination.  We figure to get all the bugs out sooner or later.   :)

I wonder if it is an airflow problem some kind of deflector could be attached to the exhaust vent. Not sure how responsive Dometic is but it might be worth contacting them.

What kind of problems did you have with the original fridge?

We have an 8.6 on order....pretty excited about not having to worry about wood rot & delam, etc....our last RV (Funfinder X21) rotted out in just over 4 years!
