Okay, now I can post pictures! In January, I made a solo trip to Florida. I had planned it so that I would drive through the mountains of West Virginia on I-64 before the next snowstorm. Well, the snowstorm sped up and moved in faster than expected. Also, it was only supposed to be a light snow - 1 or 2 inches. This is what I got.

I have no idea what that second picture is, or how it got there, since it is not even on my computer. To continue my story of my first solo trip, there was snow from Beckley, West Virginia to Lewisburg, about 40 miles distance. This next picture is the result.

Looks like 2 thumbs up to me. ;)
I think they are hitching a ride. Might be useful riding shotgun...or grenade launcher for that matter.
I am sooooo impressed.
I was reading a Facebook page for a group of RV-ers recently, and a guy made an innocent comment about how impressed he was to see more solo women RV-ers these days and a woman came on with a major sexism chip on her shoulder and said he should be equally impressed to see solo men, as he was to see solo women. Well sorry. I'm impressed to see you (a woman) going at this alone and wish I (a woman) had the gumption to do so. I know I could learn how if I really wanted to. But I'm afraid the loneliness would send me right back home. That said, well done, and in snow no less!
So I clicked on your thumbnail picture you posted and a window popped up telling me I won something. Closed it right away thinking it was spam but I had the same thing happen with a picture from Techie. You used postimg.org and I think they attached your extra picture. Not sure about that site now.
I'm impressed by anyone who can drive safely in that. Man or woman.
Wow, I would have bailed out and holed up!
As a side note, I sent Sean a message voting against using postimage.org. If the crud associated with the photos in this thread are an example of what that site does, I'm not going to use it.
Hey Leslie, I plan to leave this post up for now but I would recommend starting a new thread with your trip report. I dont know how long I this junk image up where it could be causing issues for people.
Oh, Sean, this is too bad about the pictures. It was so EASY. Fasteddie talked to me about using a flickr account to post pics here, but I have been too busy to set up an account.
Brenda, my husband was supposed to go with me to Florida, but he was talking about postponing retirement until he was 73 or 74. As it is, he waited until he was 71. I could see how much work was wearing him down and I was wondering about how much time we would have RVing if he waited that long. How many people in their 80's are RVing?
I decided to go to Florida with or without him. Every day I sent him pictures of what I was doing with the dogs in the sun while he coped with a miserable Chicago winter. It worked. He is retired now and really enjoyed our first RV trip together earlier this month. I found out how much better it is to RV as a couple rather than doing it alone. I was lonely but I did what I could to convince him it was time to retire.
Merlin, I did wait out the storm and stayed at a hotel for an additional day to give road crews a chance to clear the roads. I thought I waited long enough, but no, there was still snow and ice on the interstate. Also, a 7% decline with snow and ice and snowplows, oh my!
I had no problems with swaying, the Jeep and Camplite were solid. Of course, I kept the speed down.

Hit the picture and got the same message about winning something. I really think we should let everyone know that postimg.org has issues.

For now the plug in for postimage has been disabled so now is a matter of clean up.
Understood.
By the way I have been getting this notice on my iPad. Refuse to try it on my computer.
Always fun to camp in the snow.
Currently use photobucket, but will start a Flickr account and give it a try.
