[p]How 'bout some Shelfies?[/p][p]
[/p][p]This is the only stick of wood in our camper. Still need to stain, trim the 12v cord and cover those holes from relocating the TV to the bed area. The USB charger rocks. 3x 2.4A and 2 1A ports. 12" cables for a no tangle implementation.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Feel aweful about the wood though but at least it's quality wood....[/p][p]

We forgive the wood thing... Looks good
Thanks for the absolution, Shovelhead.
It is a slippery slope. Wood is so easy. Too much of this organic matter and it could all go to pot. If someone goes inside and squints after a few fireside libations they may confuse this trailer with a Forest River or something. That could get ugly.
Kidding of course for those reading that may be owners of stick builts.
Whoofit, you set yourself up for abuse: A few wise-arse comments....Pick your favorite:
Billet aluminum or stainless would be stronger.
Wood is for campfires.
You're hurting my eyes with all that wood.
first drop of water that wood will instantly rot.
At least paint it metal color.
C'mon, ya'LL...wood you just cut it out? :) I like it when Whoofit is being 'shelfish'.
Interesting to consider that as he gets grief for using wood (in jest, of course) that someone else just posted a LL camper sighting....with the whole exterior blinged out in WOODLAND CAMO!!! YEEHAW! Best of both worlds! After all of the unwanted attention given our shiny aluminum exterior, especially from wildlife, I dig this idea! (Now where did I put my 'Duck Dynasty' masking tape?)

[/p][p]Gotta say the camo gun tape hadn't crossed my mind till now. Maybe have it hydro dipped some nice Mossy Oak too! Or get real clever and hydro dip it in aluminum diamond plate pattern for a real brain tease. "It's wood....or is it?"

Whoofit - Do you really have five 'devices' that need to be plugged in at the same time? You must have more gadgets than James Bond. 8-) (What cool stuff does that watch do? Laser? Super-magnet?)

Truth be told five ports is not enough. I try to look specifically for micro USB as our preferred charging method when buying devices. It helps to keep things compatible with fewer cable types around the house. It doesn't solve all issues though with different resistance ID's for various manufacturers.[/p][p]

If you sit on wicker naked it will make an impression.
Or if the spacing is too wide on the seat, the angle of the dangle becomes critical.
Should be a song. "Oh, my airy Dairy Aire..."
'Duck Dynasty' masking tape can help with many hanging things. :-X
As to a song, an old Chuck Berry tune comes to mind.

Deep down Louisiana close to New Orleans
Way back up in the woods among the evergreens
There stood a trailer made of alum and azdel
Where lived a country boy named Whoofit B. Goode
Who never ever learned to read or write so well
But he could build a shelf just like a ringing a bell
Go go
Go Whoofit go
Go
Go Whoofit go

Go Whoofit go

Whoofit B. Goode
He used to keep his wood in a gunny sack
Go sit beneath the tree by the railroad track
Oh, the engineers would see him sitting in the shade
Fabricat'n shelves but never got paid
People passing by they would stop in dismay
Oh my those little wood shelves could decay
Go go
Go Whoofit go

And you will make shelves of aluminum.
Many people coming from miles around
To admire your shelves before the sun go down
Maybe someday your name will be in lights
Saying Whoofit made an aluminum shelf tonight."

Alright, Folks, I am removing myself from this discussion. Hopefully we have all planted the Seed of Silliness. I even watered it too when you all weren't looking.
It helps me to learn by listing things out. Couple points for me to remember:
The use of wood in Livin Lite products should be taken seriously. Hidden when at all possible like the makers do.
Wicker makes a fine shelf. Wear Kevlar boxers if you want to sit on it. Shave if possible.
Duck Dynasty Tape makes a great Thong. Also makes shaving obsolete..
PEI was part of my childhood. I don't remember the face.
Do not wake up and remember Chuck Berry tunes. It's an all day affair.
Shovelhead knows how to take one for the team.
Cadman cannot be reached by phone but must put on an incredible laser light show.
tlbones likes to start trouble.
Most importantly, Elmers glue does not work for shelf mounting in a travel trailer unless you have a wood wall and a wood shelf....and with that the loop is closed....full circle.
We installed a larger wood counter-top with TV cable connection, 110V power strip, home made permanent TV mount, and microwave mounts. The counter-top overhangs the couch & bed/dinette area, bed left down 100% of the time with memory foam mattress. Use the couch as a dinette with portable aluminum table. The screws securing the microwave would vibrate loose during a 200 mile tow, so used blue Locktite on the screw threads and no more loose screw problems.
Since space is at a premium in the CampLite 11, this counter-top gives us room & outlets for charging electrical devices when cooking & watching TV at the same time:

Jumping in just to say, exploringcarolina, that looks GREAT!
Bill, nice job. We did the same thing in a 16DBS with countertop delamination problems. Used a Maple workbench countertop from Ikia $(80) and plans from LL to cut out sink and stovetop openings. Looked tons better than the original once installed.

You got a cutout template from LL ??
Yes Don sent it to me. Think I still have it on a computer somewhere if someone needs it. One thing it's not a template it was drawings with dimensions.
Great. How many other trailer builders would do that? How many other trailer builders even have drawings? " Just get it in there somehow, Kid. The 'sumer will never know." :'(

Thanks!!!!
This is one of the early CampLites, so it only had a 5 gallon water tank & small sink with manual faucet on the sink. Also does not have LP system or refridgerator. We removed the sink & 5 gallon jug. Use paper plates & Teflon cookware cleaning with Clorox wipes, including hands. Cook & heat with electric appliances. This 11 footer came with a 13,500BTU AC and gets cold enough to refrigerate food, if needed! :)
If we ever sell or trade, can put this CampLite back in the vintage configuration in a day, if the buyer prefers.
Back to servicing the Tow Vehicle!
